Shortly
after treatment areas will be
tender, slightly red and swollen.
This reaction usually disappears
within a few hours.
|
|
Blisters may
occur in sensitive areas such as
bikini line and neck areas. Oozing,
crusting and scabbing are not
common, but are possible. Contact
your electrologist for treatment
guidelines.
|
|
Do
not pick or remove scabs.
|
|
In
case of minor edema (swelling),
apply ice packs 15 minutes on and
off during the day. If swelling
persists, notify your electrologist.
|
|
Apply
antibiotic cream or ointment (Polysporin,
Neosporin, Bactroban, Fucidin, or
Hydrocortisone) two to three times
daily until healed. The area should
heal in 5-7 days. We recommend
antibiotic cream for the face.
|
|
No
make-up or moisturizers for 48
hours. Underarms - no deodorant for
48 hours.
|
|
Avoid
sun before, after and between
treatments. Wear a sunscreen of SPF
30 or higher on treated area. A
severe burn and/or scarring may
result if you sunbathe or use a
tanning bed on area after a
treatment.
|
|
You
may shower the next day after laser
treatments. The treated areas may be
washed gently with a mild soap. The
skin should be patted dry and not
rubbed.
|
|
NOTE:
Stubble representing dead hair being
shed will appear 4-5 days after
treatment. It will shed from the
hair follicle in about 15-20 days.
|
|
Your
second treatment is the most
important treatment and should be
done 4-6 weeks after your first
treatment. It is important that your
appointments are done on a regular
schedule in order to catch the hair
in the proper growth cycle.
